The project
A local tennis club were looking to create an 'identity' that could then be used on potential merchandise, enabling a new revenue stream. A challenge was that the club's committee had quite different ideas about what the club's identity should be and what it should represent. There was a mix of expectations, from traditional to modern, and no clear guidelines in terms of brand colour palettes etc, and so I decided to provide a set of logos that would cover different styles.
-
The design
4 logo designs were created of distinctly different styles. These would enable the committee to select the style they preferred to give a direction to the project. All of the logo designs are clean and simple, without too many colours. Utilising the colour green in two of the logos matches with the club name. One committee member did express an interest in a 'logo only' option, without wording, and so I used Affinity Designer to create a custom design that incorporated the initials of the club into a tennis racket and ball logo design.
Opi challenger bank
Graphical design of a brand marque and logotype representing a friendly, approachable, and trustworthy modern digital bank.
Opi Bank friendly smile marque
Marque iterations showing geometric structures of the banking brand name, and its visual application inside the responsive card dashboard UI.

Opi Bank logo project
I designed multiple high fidelity screen designs for a fictional challenger banking brand. The brand was to be our own creation and so I designed the bank logo (and name), then going on to create the overall design based on the brand guidelines and principles given. More information on the project can be found on the main project page.

Opi Bank logo design
The brand values for the fictional challenger bank were 'Playful', 'Clear' and 'Trustworthy'. I feel my design encapsulates these values - The name itself is catchy and memorable, and the logo draws on this with the subtle use of the curve, combined with the 'o' and 'p' to create a friendly, smiling face.
Business process & service design
I captured the existing workflow of a London-based classic car hire company and worked with them to optimise the process.
Wedding car hire service blueprint
Blueprint mapping the booking sequence and roles to streamline wedding day operations.
-
The project
This car hire business mainly specialise in wedding vehicle hire, generally utilising a fleet of classic cars and providing specialist drivers for the booking. I was brought in to map out their existing processes, assess their tools and methods and design a revised and streamlined process along with training on any new tools required.
-
The problem
Using antiquated methods for managing the bookings combined with a recent influx of customers (due to a local rival closing business) resulted in high stress levels and mistakes being made. After discussions it was clear that there wasn't an appetite to bring in a CRM / bookings product due to the costs and the required training of existing staff. Therefore a challenge would be to bring about change whilst including and bringing all of the staff along for the journey.
-
The solution
The entire process from receiving a customer enquiry to confirming the booking was mapped out, presented and revised to ensure it met the requirements. Key staff retained their existing main responsibilities, and the new service design was not a huge deviation. Since the company were only familiar with spreadsheets, we experimented with a central database, but staff would not be comfortable. A compromise was found using Google Sheets along with custom scripts and automations (e.g. toggles that auto-updated booking statuses).
-
Communication
It was important that all staff were aware and onboard with the new service design. Therefore a communication exercise was carried out to ensure everyone was familiar with changes that affected their roles. The walls of the office were adorned with print-outs of the new design.
-
Roles and responsibilities
A document was produced listing all roles and their associated responsibilities. This removed any confusion in terms of overlap of responsibilities and expectations.
Hardware design and 3D presentation
Hardware design concept for a community edition version of an existing mobile phone model. Utilising design products Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Designer and Blender for 3D imagery I created a series of images and animations to present my design.
Inspiration board
Visual inspiration board establishing the design principles, color palette, and landmark etching references.
Nothing Phone (2a) London community edition renders
Final grid of 3D renders displaying the phone casing shell from multiple angles.
3D rotation loop presentation
Animated rotation loop showing the 3D phone model from multiple angles, highlighting its surface materials and light reflections.
-
The design
There was very little direction in terms of what should be submitted - it could be a simple sketch or something more. Design files for the base phone were provided and so I used Affinity Designer and Photoshop to create the main design. The company are based in London and so I created a design that was 'a celebration of London', showcasing some of the main landmarks on the rear of the phone.
-
Product styling & details
Designing this aesthetic for a physical device was an interesting project to work on, and I put a lot of thought into how the device would look and feel in the real world. The design should be subtle enough to not disguise the product's own unique identity, but be distinct enough to distinguish it from the standard edition.
-
3D presentation process
I decided to create an 'inspiration board' to demonstrate the thought process. Once the design was complete I created a 3D version of it in Blender and produced a short loop of the phone moving in 3D space to present the final work.
